Want to develop people skills? Interpersonal skills? Transferable skills? Would you like to get a feel for what it’s like in the workforce? If you answered yes to any of these questions, the Cerebral Palsy Association of BC’s pre-employment program is an excellent way to plan and take charge of YOUR future! This program is absolutely free of charge to participants, and it requires a 3-4 month commitment period. This program will offer critical transitional skill development and requires volunteer hours to be completed.
Here are a few words from a program participant:
“… Having cerebral palsy, I have learnt to overcome many challenges in my life but finding employment is still the greatest challenge that I face. The CPABC has provided me with great support as well as a sounding board with other individuals who have the same barriers that I do. The pre-employment program is a great, supportive program that has allowed me to come out of my shell, find a support network and to finally be proud to say that my cerebral palsy is just a small part of me and that employment [is] more achievable for me.”
If you are interested in taking part in this intensive program register early! For more information, contact programs@bccerebralpalsy.com. We’re always looking forward to having new participants!
