Equipment Subsidy

The Cerebral Palsy Association of British Columbia (CPABC) is pleased to offer financial assistance to support minors with cerebral palsy in purchasing assistive devices that enhance daily living and independence.

Eligibility Criteria

Applicant Requirements

  • The applicant must have a diagnosis of cerebral palsy. Documentation is required and may be provided by a private physiotherapist, occupational therapist, or school record. A physician’s note is not required.
  • The applicant must be a current member of the Cerebral Palsy Association of BC.

 

Funding Guidelines

  • Funding of up to $2,000 is available per application for a limited time.
  • Funds provided by CPABC must be used directly for the purchase of equipment or assistive devices.
  • If the cost of the equipment exceeds the requested amount, applicants must provide proof that the remaining funds have been secured, or include a receipt if the purchase has already been made.
  • A signed letter from a medical professional outlining the need for the requested equipment is required.
  • A quote from the vendor must be included, or a photo showing the item and its price.
  • Applicants must sign and submit: Waiver (Page 3) and Photo Release Form (Page 4).

Funding may be available for the following:

  • Communication and writing aids
  • Orthotic devices
  • Positioning and mobility aids
  • Home accessibility aids
  • Electronic aids to daily living
  • Vision and hearing aids

 

The current application cycle for minors (ages 0–18) closes on April 30, 2026.
